Firefly Scotland has won a four way competitive pitch to handle consumer PR for the famous Subway sandwich chain.
With 125 stores there are now more Subway restaurant outlets in Scotland than there are McDonalds eateries, with another 50 new stores planned in the country over the next two years. Firefly has been tasked with generally raising the profile of the Subway brand to Scottish audiences via the national media, as well as the roll-out of a series of local PR programmes to dovetail with store openings and national campaigns.
The account will be led by Firefly Scotland director Martin Cryans, who joined Firefly at the end of 2007 from Beattie where he was MD of Beattie Glasgow.
Martin Cryans, Firefly says, "We're delighted to be working with such a well-known and fast-growing consumer brand. This is the first time Subway has employed a specifically Scottish PR campaign and it will be great to help them celebrate their 10th anniversary in Scotland next year."
