Firefly Communications has hired Martin Cryans to head its Scotland office and drive business expansion north of the border. He joins Firefly after eight years with rival PR agency Beattie Communications, where he was most recently managing director of its Glasgow business. Martin has vast corporate and business-to-business experience, as well as proven issues and crisis management skills and will lead Firefly Scotland’s team of five, working across Scottish , UK-wide and international clients.

Prior to joining Beattie in 1999, Martin spent six years at Grayling. As well as a comprehensive knowledge of the Scottish media and business scene he has guided campaigns across the UK and Europe. His previous clients include ADT Europe, Andersen, Computer Sciences Corporation, Kwik-Fit Insurance, Roche, Scottish Financial Enterprise, Scottish Football Association and TGI Friday’s. Previously Martin worked in the cable TV industry and as a breakfast radio DJ. He is also a practising FIFA assistant referee, operating in Scottish and European football and has officiated at three world tournaments including the 2004 Olympic Games.
