Claire Walker

Claire founded Firefly in August 1988 with just six years' experience in marketing and PR - but a fast and furious six years they were. Claire served as PR manager at fast-growing publishing giant Emap before working on a variety of technology and business-to-business clients at Sterling Public Relations (now GCI London).

After taking the plunge, with a lot of determination and hard work, Claire quickly set out to build what has recently been judged as the UK's Consultancy of the Year (PR Week Awards, 2000). Over the past decade, Claire has had involvement with most of Firefly's client programmes, providing management level input, long-term strategic campaign planning and handling crisis management projects.

As a member of the main PRCA board and the PRCA's professional practices committee, Claire regularly guides the PR industry on delivering communications programmes and successfully managing people in a creative environment.

Claire is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Institute of Management, a fellow of the Institute of Public Relations and the Parliamentary Information Technology Committee. She was recently profiled as one of Britain's Top 100 successful and inspirational business women.
